How the search works

The tree lists every work of every author. Type a word or phrase and each work shows how many passages match. Open a work to see the counts by book, question, chapter or sermon; open a heading to read the matching passages. The link beside an author, a work or a passage opens it in the author's own site in a new page, with the search carried along and every match highlighted.

Two terms

A second term can be combined with the first using or (a passage matches either term) or and (a passage must contain both). Each term has its own language.

Languages and flavours

A language code such as la or pt searches every edition in that language; a flavour such as pt-BR or en-US only that one; * searches every language and translation available.

Match

Exact phrase finds the words in that order. Any of the words and all of the words treat the term as a list of words. Regular expression uses the term as a pattern, with flags (i = ignore case, m = multiline). In the first three modes ? stands for any single character and * for any run of characters within a word.

Row style

Limits the search to rows of one kind: headings, body text, scripture, block text and so on.
